It’s a Great Time of the Year to be Giving: CUs For Kids Kick-Off New Charitable Campaign to Support CMN Hospitals
CU Direct and its management have always viewed giving back as an important part of its corporate culture. In 2014, when CU Direct created the 20 for 20 Give-Back Campaign to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary, we initiated an online event that allowed both the CU community and local communities around the country to vote for the CMN Hospital of their choice through virtual voting. Participants had the opportunity to nominate and vote for any Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospital nationwide, placing it in the running for $20,000.
Little did we know that the campaign would go viral. The event turned out to be a tremendous success, with a total of three million page views and more than 300,000 votes within a 20-day period. Due to the amount of online interest and coverage of the campaign, the company increased its donation to $60,000. As a result, two first place CMN Hospitals each received $20,000 and the remaining four runner-up hospitals each received $5,000.
Two years later, CMN and it’s subsidirary, Credit Unions for Kids, have kicked-off a wonderful campaign this holiday season, the first annual Vote For Miracles, that looks to generate as much enthusiasum and success for CMN Hospitals. The guidelines are similar to those used during CU Direct’s 20 for 20 campaign; participants are given the opportunity to choose and vote for any CMN hospital to win a portion of $100,000, which will be divided among five winning CMN Hospitals.
We hope everyone will support Credit Unions For Kids’ Vote for Miracles Campaign by voting often, throughout the month of December – the campaign ends December 20th, 2016. Let’s make this campaign a great success for Credit Unions for Kids and CMN Hospitals nationwide!
“The people at CU Direct, especially Tony Boutelle, understand the importance of community and giving back which was evident in their efforts two years ago and it continues today,” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “We are excited to carry on the spirit of giving and hope our efforts show how dedicated companies are to helping people in a meaningful way.”
